PROFILE

Phil Bradley co-leads the firm's litigation practice and focuses on a wide range of business issues including white collar criminal defense.

Phil litigates and tries cases across the United States including representing clients before state and federal courts, arbitration tribunals and regulatory agencies. Representing a range of clients from Fortune 500 organizations to individuals in various industries, his cases involve antitrust, corporate governance, securities fraud, health care issues, false claims, whistle blower retaliation, white collar criminal defense, and employment litigation of all kinds.

In addition to his litigation and trial practice, Phil is a trusted advisor to firm clients. Phil has served as the acting General Counsel for a publicly-traded health care provider and has served as the acting Chief Compliance Officer for the largest home health care company in North America and for a retail pharmacy chain.  

Phil has received numerous awards and recognitions, including being named in both the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “Who's Who in Law” and “Who's Who in Health Care” in 2004, 2005, 2006 and being recognized as an Atlanta Magazine “Super Lawyer” in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, and in the “2004 Legal Elite” edition of Georgia Trend. Phil has also been named one of " Georgia's Most Influential People" in the March 2007 issue of James Magazine.

Representative Matters

  • Defeated a request for interlocutory relief sought by a putative class of beneficiaries against the dental care management organization under a state children’s health insurance program alleging the termination of a particular order rendered network coverage inadequate.
  • Obtained dismissal of putative national consumer class claims against a pharmaceutical manufacturer in a case alleging certain therapies lacked FDA approval and were being falsely marketed.
  • Negotiated omnibus civil and administrative settlement following a multi-year investigation into certain cost reporting practices for a nation-wide publicly traded health care provider.
  • Defeated a request for interlocutory injunctive relief by a putative class of physicians against a medical care management organization alleging slow and underpayment of claims.
  • Obtained dismissal of multiple actions by putative classes of uninsured patients against a not-for-profit hospital challenging the hospital’s pricing and collection practices.
  • Obtained preliminary injunction against the former president of an international cosmetic manufacturer preventing the former president from competing against his former employer in the United States.     

Community Involvement

After having served for nine years as its General Counsel, Phil volunteers his time as Vice Chairman for Habitat for Humanity in Atlanta and leads the Atlanta office's Habitat project. Phil also conducts training programs for the Atlanta Legal Aid Society and Georgia Legal Services Program on litigation skills. In addition, Phil serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Legal Services Foundation.
