Law Student Outreach
Hiring, training and retaining accomplished, dedicated, well-rounded professionals is the key to providing high-quality and innovative services.
As showcased in the examples below, McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP supports a variety of law schools and the students they serve.
- Emory University Mock Interview Program
At the start of each year, the Atlanta office pairs with the minority organizations of Emory University School of Law to host mock callbacks for 1L students. Participating students have an opportunity to meet with two attorneys for 30-minute interviews and receive constructive feedback. A recent participant said, “I found it to be an extremely positive and helpful experience. I really enjoyed the opportunity to become more acquainted with the firm, and found the feedback to be invaluable.” - Los Angeles Legal Recruitment Association (LAALRA)
The LAALRA Diversity Committee, chaired by Sr. Legal Recruitment Manager Julie Inouye since 2009, hosted its 2nd Annual 1L Diversity Networking Event in spring 2011. The event brought together law students from 5 local law schools and 50 lawyers representing 25 Southern California firms. The 3rd Annual 1L Event is slated to take place on March 1, 2012. - Georgetown University Law Center
In October 2011, Washington, DC Associates Luke Meier and Stephanie Ellis attended the school's "World of Choices" program for students. The goal of the program was to expose 1L students to the wide range of legal career options in the DC area.
"Diversity has always been an issue of personal interest for me. Fortunately, McKenna works very hard to promote diversity and to create an environment that is comfortable and inclusive for all attorneys."
