August 1, 2007

McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP and the National Foreign Trade Council invite you to participate in a Web-based Seminar discussion.

The New China Rule Explained:
The VEU Process and Military End-Use Standards

Wednesday, August 1, 2007
1:00 - 2:00 pm ET
10:00 - 11:00 am PT

With the recently announced changes to the U.S. dual-use export licensing policy to China, exporting commercial products to China requires the exporter for the first time to determine on its own if the product might be used for or converted to military use.  In the often opaque structure of the interrelationship between China’s commercial and military sectors, a product’s use can be difficult to determine.  This webinar will focus on setting out the new requirements and will include discussions of how U.S. companies can best comply with them.  Without compliance, the China export market will truly be jeopardized.

Discussion topics to be covered include:

Moderated by: Allen Green (Partner, McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP)

Speakers: Bill Reinsch (President, National Foreign Trade Council), John Liebman (Of Counsel, McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP) and Jay Carey (Partner, McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP)
