The National Contract Management Association presented the 44th Annual Aerospace and Defense Contract Management Conference with the theme “Getting the Work Done: The Government–Industry Team in Transition,” on July 27-28, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency Orange County in Garden Grove, CA.
Federal leaders and industry professionals presented on such topics as the roles of the contractor on the battlefield, homeland security, the SAFETY Act, competitive sourcing, lessons learned from disasters and more. Attendees had an opportunity to discuss these and many other topics pertaining to aerospace and defense contracting with their peers at the networking events and forums.
Keynote presenters included Ken Dahlberg, CEO, SAIC and Shay D. Assad, Director, Defense Procurement and Acquisition Policy, Office of the Secretary of Defense. MLA Attorneys Tom Abbott and Mary Ellen Fraser presented on the Buy American Act, the Berry Amendment and the Trade Agreements Act.
