John Clerici to Provide Testimony on the SAFETY Act

John Clerici, attorney with McKenna Long & Aldridge, will testify on behalf of the Unites States Chamber of Commerce at a hearing about the SAFETY Act before the Full House Government Reform Committee on Friday, September 19.

Two panels will be testifying. The first panel consists of representatives from the Department of Homeland Security. The second panel will consist of the National Association of Manufacturers, the Professional Services Counsel, Information Technology Association of America and the United States Chamber.

McKenna Long & Aldridge participated in writing some of the provisions for the SAFETY Act. The SAFETY Act proposes the implementation of liability protections for providers of anti-terrorism technology under the Homeland Security Act of 2002 and provide comprehensive liability protection for providers of homeland security technology to ALL segments of the marketplace - federal, state and local governments as well as commercial markets.
