McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP Real Estate Director Brian Olasov Co-authors Book on Real Estate Financing
ATLANTA (November 13, 2012) — Brian Olasov, a real estate managing director in the Atlanta office of McKenna Long & Aldridge (MLA), recently joined a select group of leading real estate professionals to write Real Estate Financing. This PERE publication offers expert insight into the factors that have created today’s finance market conditions. It guides clients through the merits of different finance solutions and maps out opportunities available to bankers, financiers and other lenders.
Olasov contributed the book’s chapter titled, “Regulatory Considerations In US Real Estate Finance” that focuses on capital sources and regulatory responses. The chapter provides insight into the likely impact of Dodd-Frank, securitization and CMBS regulatory reform under Dodd-Frank, as well as examining Regulation AB and bank regulatory agencies and guidance on CRE lending and servicing. The 2012 volume of another publication to which Olasov has contributed, Mortgage and Asset-Backed Securities Litigation Handbook, published by Thomson West, will be released shortly.
Brian Olasov focuses on real estate capital markets, troubled mortgage loans and banking challenges. He provides business and capital markets consultation services to the firm’s finance and corporate departments, and analytical support for the litigation department developing damage estimates and modeling economic arguments for use in negotiations and litigation. He often testifies in mortgage-backed securities disputes. Brian sits on the Board of Governors and Executive Committee of the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council, the editorial board of CRE Finance World and the board of the Real Estate Investment Advisors Council.
