US firm McKenna Long & Aldridge has hired Flavia Distefano as a partner in its Brussels base to kick-start a competition department for the firm.
Distefano previously worked at the local branch of O’Melveny & Myers, where she was counsel. Prior to this, she practised with the legacy Wilmer Cutler & Pickering in the city. She will launch a competition practice for McKenna Long.
Ursula Schliessner, a partner at McKenna Long & Aldridge’s Brussels office, said: “[Distefano’s] extensive EC competition experience and active involvement in the Brussels competition community have made Flavia the perfect candidate for the launching of our EC competition practice.”
She joins as the fourth partner in the 450-lawyer US firm’s Brussels branch.
