Jeffrey Miller Joins Firm’s National Government Affairs Practice as Managing Director

WASHINGTON, DC - (September 14, 2006) - McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP announces Jeffrey Miller, former Senior Vice President for Government and Industry Affairs for ACC Capital Holdings Corporation, as the latest addition to the firm’s growing California arm of the national Government Affairs practice. Mr. Miller joined McKenna Long & Aldridge as a Managing Director on September 12, 2006.

Prior to joining McKenna Long & Aldridge, Mr. Miller was Senior Vice President for Government and Industry Affairs for one of the nation's largest lenders, ACC Capital Holdings Corporation, the parent company of Ameriquest, Argent, Ameriquest Mortgage Services and LBAC. Leading a nationwide team of corporate and contract lobbyists, he developed and oversaw legislative and regulatory strategies on issues such as licensing, lending, tort reform, and other related issues. He also helped manage the company's public profile and crisis communication planning.
Jeff has also enjoyed a distinguished career in California politics. He worked for Congressman Bill Thomas in Washington, DC, as a legislative aide and committee consultant for Assemblyman Bruce Thompson at the California State Capitol, and as Finance Director for numerous California Senate and Assembly Republican Leaders.
In 2000, Jeff was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the California Republican Party. Over a four-year period, he revamped the Party's fundraising operation and raised more than $60 million in just two election cycles.
Mr. Miller is the latest addition to the firm’s national Government Affairs group that includes former US Senator Zell Miller, former Canadian Ambassador Gordon Giffin and a recently established government affairs practice in New York, which joined the firm on June 1, 2006.
