Ruderman was named chief human resources officer in a newly created position with Active International, under which this global marketing and business-solutions company does business. Mr. Ruderman, 48 years old, most recently served as senior vice president of human resources with Citigroup Inc.'s credit-card business.

Mr. Simmons, 44 years old, most recently served as managing director with GE Commercial Finance Real Estate, a unit of General Electric & Co. and as head of its retail group for North America.

BNY CONVERGEX GROUP LLC (New York) -- Nicholas J. Colas was named director of research in a new position with BNY Jaywalk LLC, a division of this brokerage and investment-technology-solutions provider. Mr. Colas, 42, most recently served as director of equity research with Rochdale Securities LLC.

 CARLYLE GROUP (New York) -- Pauline J. Brown was named managing director in the consumer and retail group of this private investment firm, effective Nov. 15. Ms. Brown, 40, most recently served as senior vice president for corporate strategy and global business development with Avon Products Inc.

DATAPATH Inc. (Duluth, Ga.) -- David J. Helfgott was named president and chief operating officer in a newly created position, effective Nov. 15, with this satellite and wireless-communications-networks provider. Mr. Helfgott, 43, most recently served as president and chief executive officer with Americom Government Services Inc.

EXLSERVICE HOLDINGS Inc. (New York) -- Pramode Metre was named vice president and chief sales and marketing officer with this outsourcing provider. Mr. Metre, 53, most recently served as corporate vice president with e4e Inc. He succeeds Shiv Kumar, 37, who resigned to pursue other opportunities. Mr. Kumar couldn't be reached to comment.

MARSH & MCLENNAN COS. (New York) -- Vice Chairman, office of the Chief Executive Officer, John T. Sinnott announced his retirement, effective Dec. 31, from this professional services firm. The company hasn't named a successor for Mr. Sinnott. He is 67.

MCKENNA LONG & ALDRIDGE LLP (New York) -- Richard S. Gordon was named partner with this international law firm. Mr. Gordon, 49, is the founder of Gordon Law Firm PC.

NATHAN'S FAMOUS Inc. (Westbury, N.Y.) -- Eric Gatoff was named chief executive, effective Jan. 1, with this operator and franchiser of fast-food restaurants. Mr. Gatoff, 37, previously served as vice president and corporate counsel. He will continue to serve as director. In addition, former CEO, Howard M. Lorber was named executive chairman. Mr. Lorber, 58, will continue to serve as a director.
