Obama Insider New U.S. Envoy

Ambassador Gordon Giffin is quoted, supporting President Obama’s choice of David Jacobson as the new U.S. Ambassador to Canada.

In response to Obama’s selection of David Jacobson to the post of Ambassador to Canada, Gordon Giffin says, "I can certify that he has got a close relationship with the president and a very close relationship with senior people in the White House and throughout the administration."

Giffin goes on to say that he "would suggest that the government of Canada would be disappointed if they got someone other than someone perceived to be close to the president."
