Ex-DOE Official Joins McKenna Gov't Affairs Group

The newest addition to McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP's federal government affairs department is a former U.S. Department of Energy official with experience in Koch Industries Inc.'s advocacy and policy division.

[Alex] McGee said Thursday that he expected much of his time would be spent on energy-related issues.

He said it was difficult to provide clients with certainty when Congress was in the midst of developing new legislation, “but you try to do your best to give a view of trends and opportunities for clients and others to make their case to the policymakers.”

“If there are issues you know are being discussed in terms of a specific bill or something that is being crafted, you certainly want to be in a position where you can give policy makers a perspective, and at the same time you're providing your clients with best information in terms of what's coming down the pike,” McGee said.
