McKenna Long & Aldridge Elects 17 New Partners

January 14, 2008 - (Washington, DC) - McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP is pleased to announce that the Firm has elected 17 new partners, effective January 1, 2008.  The new partners represent a wide range of practice areas and office locations.

Haidet, Chairman of McKenna Long & Aldridge.  “These men and women reflect the Firm’s breadth of talent and expertise. They are committed to advancing our strategic goals and exemplify our core value of providing superior service to our clients.”

The 2008 new partner class is comprised of 14 associates and three of counsel:

S. Derek Bauer, Atlanta office, is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group.  He specializes in health care, media, First Amendment and civil rights litigation.  Derek’s health care clients include hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, insurers, physicians, pharmacists, long-term and personal care homes, and diagnostic imaging providers.  His media and First Amendment clients include print and broadcast media, authors, and publishers in cases involving defamation, privacy, access, and constitutional issues.

Joseph O. Blanco, Atlanta office, is a partner in the Corporate Practice Group.  He focuses on general corporate counseling, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. Joseph's experience includes structuring strategic alliance relationships, assisting borrowers in financing transactions, and advising audit committees and special committees with respect to governance matters and internal investigations.

Janine A. Bowen, Atlanta office, is a partner in the Corporate Practice Group.  Her practice concentrates on commercialization of technology, intellectual property, content and data, issues surrounding e-commerce and the protection and exploitation of Internet-based assets, privacy and information security, data and email retention, and technology export compliance.

David K. Brown, Atlanta office, is a partner in the Corporate Practice Group.  He focuses on corporate law, with an emphasis on federal securities law practice, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and corporate finance.  David has represented clients in varying sectors  including utilities, biotechnology, transportation, securities, and public finance.

Nathan L. Garroway, Atlanta office, is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group.  He represents plaintiffs and defendants in trials, arbitrations, and appeals throughout the U.S.  He focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, including the defense of class actions in both state and federal courts.  Nathan handles cases involving contract disputes, business torts, false advertising, telecommunications, consumer fraud, and shareholder/partnership disputes.

David A. Geiger, Atlanta office, is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group.  He focuses his practice on bankruptcy and commercial litigation, and represents creditors, debtors, and examiners in Chapter 11 reorganization proceedings and debtor/creditor litigation. He also regularly counsels clients in a variety of out-of-court distressed debt scenarios.

Paul C. Hurdle, III, Washington, DC office, is a partner in the Real Estate Finance and Development Practice Group.  His practice focuses on commercial real estate loan origination, securitization, and servicing. Paul has extensive experience representing various parties in connection with commercial mortgage backed securities loan origination, securitization, master servicing, and special servicing, with an emphasis on defeasance and assumption transactions.

Shari L. Klevens, Washington, DC office, is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group. Shari's practice focuses on complex patent, trademark, and copyright infringement litigation before state and federal courts, the American Arbitration Association, and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.  Shari also assists clients in the registration of trademarks and copyrights and counsels clients in the development, licensing, and protection of intellectual property.

David J. Larsen, Los Angeles office, is a partner in the Real Estate and Finance Practice Group.  His practice focuses on commercial lending, real estate finance, real property acquisition and disposition, commercial leasing, workouts, debtor-in-possession finance, enterprise acquisition and disposition, corporate entity formation and governance, and other transactional matters. 

Jayme C. Long, Los Angeles office, is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group. Her practice concentrates on general civil litigation, especially products liability and toxic torts. Jayme defends businesses in chemical exposure cases throughout all phases of litigation, including trial.

Adrian P.J. Mollo, Washington, DC office, is a partner the Intellectual Property Practice Group. His practice concentrates on patent licensing, patent litigation, and corporate counseling.  Adrian’s licensing and transactional experience includes counseling clients in the development, licensing, and protection of intellectual property, particularly in patent licensing and enforcement. He has also handled a wide range of  U.S. and international litigation matters.

William M. Mooney, III, New York office, is a partner in the Public Policy & Regulatory Affairs Practice Group.  His practice focuses on administrative law and government affairs. He represents clients before state and local agencies in a wide range of matters, including government approvals and permitting, government contracting and procurement, economic development and real estate, litigation, as well as health care, energy and environmental initiatives.

Lisa M. Norrett, Washington, DC office, is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group.  Her practice focuses on complex civil litigation in federal and state courts, both at the trial and appellate levels.  She has litigated cases involving a variety of product liability, toxic tort, and general civil litigation matters.   Lisa served as the principal associate in defending a large government contractor against product liability claims in North Carolina federal court.

Laurence R. Phillips, San Diego office, is a partner in the Government Contracts Practice Group.  For over ten years, Laurence has represented contractors, public entities, real estate developers and manufacturers with respect to issues arising from the procurement, negotiation, interpretation, and enforcement of government and private contracts.

Robert S. Schuda, Los Angeles office, is a partner in the firm’s Environmental and Regulatory Practice Group.  He represents clients in matters involving groundwater and soil cleanup, environmental planning, hazardous waste management, air emissions, and pesticide registration and data protection.  Before joining McKenna Long & Aldridge, Robert practiced environmental law as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Timothy J. Scott, Los Angeles office, is a partner in the Real Estate & Finance practice group. He brings more than 20 years experience in the areas of corporate, commercial and real estate matters.  Tim has represented hundreds of public and private companies, from large multi-national corporations to emerging entrepreneurial organizations, including some of the foremost financial institutions in the U.S. and abroad, in real estate, corporate and financial transactions.

Rupa G. Singh, San Diego office, is a partner in our Litigation Practice Group.  She focuses on representing technology, services, and manufacturing companies in complex civil and commercial litigation matters involving contractual, licensing, trade secret, unfair competition, malpractice, and intellectual property disputes.  Rupa leads many national organizations and has received numerous awards for her commitment to the legal community.
