McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP Appoints Avital Stadler As The Associate Director Of Professional Development

February 21, 2008

February 21, 2008 - (Atlanta, GA) - McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP (MLA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Avital Stadler as the new Associate Director of Professional Development.  Stadler rejoins MLA from Sutherland Asbill & Brennan in Atlanta, where he was a partner.

“We are extremely pleased to have Avi return to MLA,” said Jeff Haidet, Chairman of MLA.  “Avi is an experienced lawyer whose extensive background will significantly benefit our attorneys in achieving their career development goals.  Most importantly, adding Avi to our team allows us to increase our capacity in providing our clients with effective legal counseling that is efficiently delivered by our lawyers.”

Stadler will be implementing a comprehensive firm-wide professional development program to assist attorneys in developing the skills they need to meet their professional, business and client-service goals.  The Firm is currently concentrating on three main areas:  training, feedback, and career planning.

Stadler is an experienced securities litigator, with extensive experience representing broker/dealers and registered representatives in federal and state court, customer arbitrations and during SEC and other securities investigations. Stadler is a certified NASD arbitrator. Before joining Sutherland Asbill & Brennan, he clerked for U.S. District Judge Julie E. Carnes and began his practice as a litigation associate at MLA.

Stadler was named to Atlanta Magazine’s 2006 and 2007 list of Georgia Super Lawyers “Rising Stars,” and graduated from the 2007 Anti-Defamation League’s Glass Leadership Institute. He is an adjunct professor at Georgia Tech, teaching in the Pre-Law Program in the Public Policy Department. In addition, he serves as an instructor in Emory University School of Law's Kessler-Eidson Trial Techniques Program.

“Through my recent teaching experiences, I found that my passion lies in the training and development of young lawyers,” said Stadler. “This realization led me to this new position at MLA, which I am thrilled to undertake.”

Stadler has also demonstrated a commitment to public service. He is a member of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation’s Board of Directors and the Southeast Region of the Anti-Defamation League.  In addition, he helped draft an amicus brief in support of Guantanamo detainees that was filed with the Supreme Court of the United States.
