July 17, 2008 - (Washington, D.C.) - McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP (MLA) is pleased to announce that it has earned a Certificate of Finalist Recognition for Best 2007 Annual Report in The 2008 International Business Awards (IBA) and a Bronze Award in the League of American Communications Professionals LLC (LACP) 2007 Vision Awards Annual Report Competition.
The IBA is the only global, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace, and the LACP is dedicated to supporting, recognizing, and advancing excellence in the practice of professional communications.
“We consider our annual report to be an integral part of MLA's industry-leading internal communications program by consistently providing our people with information on the firm and its accomplishments,” stated MLA Chairman Jeff Haidet. "The report’s strong content reflects our people’s high level of engagement in our firm and our communities, and we are honored to be recognized for such impressive awards.”
Nicknamed the Stevies® for the Greek word crowned, the International Business Awards will be presented to honorees at a gala dinner on Monday, September 8 in the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin, Ireland. In addition to McKenna Long & Aldridge, IBA honorees include Bertelsmann AG, Guetersloh, Germany and Qualcomm, San Diego, CA, USA.
IBA honorees were selected from close to 2,000 entries from more than 30 countries by members of the Awards’ Board of Distinguished Judges and Advisors during two months of preliminary judging. “Entries to the IBAs grew 65 percent this year, which illustrates the increasing importance of The International Business Awards worldwide,” said Michael Gallagher, president of The Stevie Awards.
More than 3,000 entries were submitted representing 21 countries in the LACP Vision Awards competition. LACP scores were derived according to a proprietary judging system that assigns point values to various criteria of an entry. A composite score was then determined by summing the results of all judging criteria.
“Overall, we find this year’s annual report for McKenna Long & Aldridge to be superb, earning a total score of 93 out a maximum 99 points awarded in this competition,” said LACP Managing Director Christine Kennedy. “The level of creativity is supported by excellent clarity in communicating this year’s key messages, and we classify [the MLA] entry as being among the top of all annual reports within its industry this year.”
