McKenna Long & Aldridge Expands Denver Operations

Eight New Attorneys Hired; New Practice Formed, Others Expanded

DENVER (February 7, 2005) McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP announced that it is expanding its Denver office with the addition of eight new attorneys and substantially expanding client services here.

The Denver office will include 17 attorneys and add a corporate transactional, real estate finance and state and local public policy practice. The firm will also expand its complex litigation practice, national government affairs practice and environmental practices.

"With our merger integration completed and a successful 2004, we intend to continue growing our national footprint and client service capabilities," said McKenna Long & Aldridge Chairman Jeff Haidet. "We're very optimistic about our growth in Denver. The area has a young, well-educated business culture, healthy job market and more than 500 companies have corporate headquarters in Colorado."

All of the eight attorneys are joining the firm from Friedlob Sanderson Paulson & Tourtillott, LLC. They include:

Raymond Friedlob, Partner - Mr. Friedlob specializes in federal securities, corporate law, special committee representations, mergers and acquisitions and all aspect of capital formation, finance and tax law. He has co-authored select legislation, including the Colorado Securities Act. Mr. Friedlob was appointed a special officer and special master by the United States Federal District Court, by President Reagan to serve on the National Advisory Council on the Public Lands and by George H.W. Bush to the Board of Directors of the National Forest Foundation. Mr. Friedlob has been an adjunct professor at the University of Denver College of Law where he received his law degree. He currently serves as a faculty member of the Institute for Public Policy at the University of Denver teaching Getting Results Inside the Beltway. Mr. Friedlob holds a post-doctorate degree in tax law from New York University.

John Kellogg, Partner - Mr. Kellogg is an attorney and a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) specializing in corporate and securities matters, including: mergers and acquisitions, corporate investigations, special committee representations, audit committee and board representation, securities issuance and periodic reporting, and real estate finance and development. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado and his law degree from the University of Denver College of Law.

Paul Seby, Partner - Mr. Seby specializes in environmental and natural resources law, advising electric utility, manufacturing, mining and governmental clients before state and federal agencies and courts. His practice focuses in the arena of air and water quality permitting, facility siting, government and enforcement defense. Mr. Seby received his bachelor's degree from the University of San Diego and his law degree from Lewis & Clark, Northwestern School of Law.

Shayne Madsen, Partner - Ms. Madsen specializes in public policy and administrative law, commercial transactions and real estate law, including planning and zoning issues. She has represented business and trade association clients with legislative and public affairs issues before the Colorado Legislature for more than 20 years. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado and her law degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri .

Richard Kaufman, Of Counsel - Mr. Kaufman is a litigation attorney and represents clients in environmental, business, securities and regulatory cases. He has served as a trial attorney with the U.S. Attorneys' Office in Denver and served as Deputy Attorney General of the State of Colorado. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Kaufman graduated from Indiana State University and earned his law degree from Emory University.

John Tatlock, Of Counsel - Mr. Tatlock works on all aspects of commercial, securities and civil litigation. In his trial and appellate practice, he holds extensive experience in contract and warranty litigation, securities law, products liability, mass torts employment law, and business torts. In addition, Mr. Tatlock also practices in the area of private equity. He received a bachelor's degree from Wichita State, a master's degree from the University of Iowa and his law degree from the University of Denver College of Law.

Terri Rithner, Associate - Ms. Rithner focuses on corporate and securities law and real estate law, including all aspects of real estate finance. She received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and her law degree from the University of Denver College of Law.

RaLea Sluga, Associate - Ms. Sluga focuses on corporate, securities and regulatory law. Her practice includes mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and compliance. In addition, Ms. Sluga has an established focus on the formation of non-profit entities, including those involved in technology development and transfer. She received her bachelor's degree from Columbia University and her law degree from the University of Denver College of Law.
