Phil Bradley Honored for Outstanding Community Service

March 4, 2005

Atlanta Habitat for Humanity recently honored office managing partner Phil Bradley with its third annual Golden Hammer Award. Habitat established the award to recognize a group or individual who has gone above and beyond the call of service and inspired others to do so. Larry Del Martin, Executive Director of Atlanta Habitat says "it was an easy choice to select Phil Bradley as the 2004 recipient and honoree."

The following is a summary account by Atlanta Habitat for Humanity regarding Phil's contributions:

Phil serves as General Counsel and member of the Board of Directors, providing the highest quality pro bono legal services that otherwise would be unaffordable to a nonprofit organization such as Habitat. He is available day and night, weekdays and weekends, always providing the same exceptional service to Atlanta Habitat that he affords his clients. As a Board member, he helps set strategic direction, develop policy, and secure house sponsorships and donations on behalf of the organization. Last year, Phil helped spearhead the new "Buildable Hours" program, targeting participation among small- and mid-sized law and professional firms that had not previously been involved with Atlanta Habitat.

Phil spends many of his Saturdays as an Atlanta Habitat construction volunteer. Whether working side by side with MLA colleagues or with fellow church parishioners, he is on site with hammer or paintbrush in hand. Through his dedication to being a hands-on participant in the program, he has earned great esteem and respect among other volunteers, staff members, and fellow board members. We are fortunate and grateful to have the dedicated support of Phil Bradley, who gives of himself generously and tirelessly to help us meet the needs of low-income families who dream of home ownership.

McKenna Long & Aldridge is committed to helping nonprofit organizations achieve their service goals. Phil's example is one of many throughout the firm whose inspired volunteer work improves the social and economic health of our communities.
