The 1st Annual Obesity Europe conference brought together some of the top experts and decision makers from Europe and beyond as well as high level industry representatives, to facilitate a rational debate on the subject and to aid in the development of a cross-sector strategy to tackle obesity on a national, European and global level.
McKenna Long & Aldridge partner Ursula Schliessner spoke on June 15 at the panel "What will the proposed new legislation on misleading food labels mean for industry?". Ms. Schliessner is an expert in European food and product safety. She discussed the legal issues surrounding the proposed new legislation, conditions that must be met in order to make a health claim, and specific do's and dont's.
