PROFILE

Todd J. Canni is an associate in the Government Contracts department , where he represents contractors in all aspects of the government contracting process including negotiation, award, performance, and termination.  Mr. Canni’s practice focuses on representing contractors under government investigation or in connection with internal investigations, particularly in the areas of program fraud. 

Mr. Canni has substantial experience in civil False Claims Act/qui tam matters. His practice includes the investigation and defense of matters involving allegations of testing failures, product substitution, quality issues, kickbacks, and harboring illegal aliens. 

Prior to joining the firm, Todd served as a judicial law clerk to Chief Judge Edward J. Damich of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, where he handled a variety of cases in the government contracts context. During his clerkship, Todd also assisted Senior Judge Loren A. Smith in the research and drafting of a Winstar-damages opinion.

Todd received his legal education from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude and served as Associate Editor on the Editorial Board of the Catholic University Law Review.
