PROFILE

Tim Scott focuses his practice on real estate and finance law combining more than 20 years experience in the areas of corporate, commercial, and real estate matters.  He has represented hundreds of public and private companies, from large multi-national corporations to emerging entrepreneurial organizations.

Tim has represented clients in both the U.S. and abroad, including some of the foremost financial institutions such as, Bank of America, General Electric Capital Corporation and Security Pacific National Bank.

He has represented commercial lessors in ongoing leasing programs; buyers and sellers in purchase and sale transactions (including tax deferred exchange transactions); lenders and borrowers in commercial and real estate secured financing transactions, and in renegotiation and work-out transactions; and property owners in connection with environmental investigations & remediation work.

Tim Scott is also experienced in real estate and secured lending transactions, including representation of a major construction company in the tax-deferred exchange (Section 1031) of its corporate headquarters facility and the associated relocation and serving as principal counsel to an international bank in its lending relationships with importer clients and in related real estate secured transactions.

Prior to joining McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, Tim worked at Korn/Ferry International as Associate General Counsel & Corporate Secretary and at Morrison & Foerster LLP as Of Counsel.
