Virginia Gomez is an associate in the Los Angeles office. She is a member of the Government Contracts department, and she focuses her practice on government contracts compliance, small business and socioeconomic issues, bid protests, and False Claims Act investigations. Virginia also has extensive experience representing individuals before the Department of Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals who are applying for national security clearances.
Virginia graduated from cum laude from the Pepperdine University School of Law, where she was an associate editor of the Pepperdine Law Review, President of the International Law Association, and an officer of the student legal aid organization. During law school, Virginia clerked at El Rescate, a non-profit organization providing free legal representation and advice for the Central American community in Los Angeles, as well as served as a Research Assistant to Real Property Professor Peter Wendel.
Prior to law school, Virginia was an analyst with the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) in the Washington, D.C. area. At IDA, Virginia researched and prepared materials for briefings with senior Pentagon officials concerning European defense industry issues and procurement practices, as well as researched and published materials related to U.S.-China security relations and deterrence issues among nuclear powers.
Virginia earned her B.A., with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa honors society.
