Timothy A. Wilson has more than 25 years of experience handling real estate title matters. Most recently, he has worked on a large retail roll-out as a real estate title insurance specialist in McKenna Long & Aldridge’s Los Angeles office.
After law school, Timothy was one of the founders and the President of Stewart Title of Gunnison County, Inc., in Crested Butte, Colorado, where he was responsible for all title underwriting and management of the business operations. His subsequent experience includes several years of working on high value complex real estate transactions in New York City, including serving as president of a Manhattan title agency that successfully closed over $5 billion of commercial real estate transactions.
Timothy has been involved in a number of complex multi-site real estate transactions, engaged by title companies and working for law firms Kirkland & Ellis and Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. He worked on significant transactions such as the acquisition of the initial portfolio of Westin Hotels by Starwood; the real estate component of taking AMF Bowling Centers public; and the partnership roll-up as part of the sale of the Wright-Rundstadt portfolio of office buildings.
Timothy has worked on major commercial properties involving such landmark transactions as the acquisition and financing of the first leasehold residential condominium project built on a landfill in Battery Park City; the acquisition and financing of the Herald Square Mall; the assignment and financing of the ground lease of 40 Wall Street; and the construction financing for the Marriott Marquis Hotel, located on Times Square in Manhattan.
After 9/11, Timothy moved to Los Angeles to work on a dispute with a disability insurance company. This became a litigation matter and he was admitted pro hac vice in March 2003 to practice this case in California Superior Court. After the successful conclusion of this case in late 2003, Timothy joined a major national title insurance company where he served as Counsel until late 2006.
Previously, Timothy served as the managing partner of the Cincinnati based law firm of Wilson, Nelson and Isaacs, where he primarily represented real estate developers and builders. In addition to commercial real estate transactions, he handled commercial bankruptcy reorganizations, civil and criminal litigation.
Timothy plans to take the July 2008 California Bar exam.
