PROFILE

Lisa Norrett is a partner in McKenna Long & Aldridge's Washington, DC office. She is a member of the firm's Litigation Department

Lisa's practice focuses primarily on complex civil litigation in federal and state courts, including class action and mass tort litigation. She has litigated cases involving a variety of product liability, toxic tort, and general civil litigation matters. For two years, Lisa served as the principal associate in defending a government contractor against product liability claims in North Carolina federal court.

Currently, she represents a pharmaceutical manufacturer in the multi-district "fen-phen" diet drug litigation, as well as a telecommunications corporation in several class action product liability lawsuits. She also represents a military support contractor in a number of tort cases stemming from its combat-related work overseas.

In addition, Lisa specializes in removal of cases from state to federal court. She has successfully removed numerous product liability and toxic tort cases utilizing a variety of removal doctrines.

Lisa authored "Grable & Sons Reaffirms the Smith Approach to Federal Question Jurisdiction," Product Liability Law & Strategy, September 2005. Lisa also co-authored (with Raymond B. Biagini and Ray M. Aragon) "TREAD Act Foreshadows a Bumpy Compliance Road for Automakers," Product Liability Law & Strategy, February 2001.

Lisa received her B.A., magna cum laude, in 1995 from the College of William & Mary, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. In 1998, she received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a member of the Journal of Law & Politics.
