Tom Lauth focuses his practice primarily on public and corporate finance matters. For more than 15 years, he has represented states, counties, cities, public authorities, hospitals, non-profit and for-profit corporations, limited liability companies, investment banking firms and other financial institutions in a variety of public and corporate finance matters as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel, borrower's counsel, letter of credit bank's counsel, trustee's counsel and issuer's counsel. These public and corporate finance matters include the tax-exempt and taxable financing and refinancing of more than 230 projects, totaling in excess of $12 billion in aggregate principal amount, including health care facilities, multifamily housing, airports, mass transit facilities and rolling stock, water and sewer projects, solid waste treatment facilities, parks and green space, sports arenas, jails, manufacturing facilities, public utilities, schools, student housing and other university facilities and traditional public projects.

The structures of these financings have ranged from the issuance of general obligation bonds, revenue bonds and certificates of participation to leveraged lease / lease-back financings and have utilized a vast array of derivative products, including interest rate caps, collars and swaps and forward purchase agreements. Tom also advises public and private companies in connection with a variety of general corporate and securities matters.
