PROFILE

Summer Chandler focuses her practice on bankruptcy and creditor’s rights litigation.  She has experience representing creditors, debtors, and trustees in Chapter 11 reorganization proceedings and Chapter 7 liquidation proceedings.  Summer also has experience prosecuting and defending bankruptcy litigation matters, including avoidance actions and injunctive relief.  In addition, Summer has experience representing debtors and creditors in debtor/creditor litigation outside of bankruptcy.

Summer is actively involved in the firm’s pro bono efforts.  Most recently, she participated in the Just Georgia Project, an effort aimed at rewriting the Georgia Juvenile Code.  She also recently participated in the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation’s Saturday Lawyers Program, a program aimed at pairing clients in need of legal assistance with volunteer attorneys.  She is also a volunteer with the Promise Place Council on Domestic Violence, an organization aimed at preventing abuse and assisting survivors of domestic violence.

While in law school, Summer served as the Executive Editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform.  Also during law school, Summer served as a project coordinator for the Family Law Project, a joint effort between Legal Services of South Central Michigan and the University of Michigan Law School.  As a project coordinator, Summer provided training to student volunteers and supervised and contributed to the work in ongoing cases.
