PROFILE

Todd Silliman practices in the environmental law group. He concentrates on advising and representing clients in regulatory matters, environmental litigation and transactions involving commercial real estate.

Todd assists clients in obtaining water supply, industrial wastewater discharge and air pollution control permits and defends clients in regulatory enforcement actions. He is a member of the legal team representing the State of Georgia in interstate water allocation negotiations with the States of Alabama and Florida and in related litigation in Atlanta and Washington, DC against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers concerning operation of Lake Lanier to meet Atlanta's water supply needs. He has significant experience in cost recovery actions associated with contaminated sites throughout the country. Todd also advises local governments on environmental issues related to privatization of water and wastewater treatment systems.

Chambers USA named Todd as one of "America's Leading Business Lawyers" and Atlanta Magazine recognized him as a "Georgia Super Lawyer" in the area of Environmental Law in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

Todd was the Chair of the Environmental Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia for 2001. Todd was a member of the second class of the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership (IGEL), sponsored by the Governor's Environmental Advisory Council and the JW Fanning Institute for Leadership at the University of Georgia. Todd currently serves on the Board of Directors for IGEL.

Immediately following his graduation from law school, Todd clerked for The Honorable Robert G. Doumar, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
