PROFILE

Susan Gilefsky is a Partner in McKenna Long & Aldridge's Los Angeles office. Her practice is concentrated in products liability, toxic tort and other general liability issues confronting businesses. She represents a broad range of clients in asbestos product liability cases, including premise owners and manufacturers, distributors and suppliers of a wide variety of products. Susan has defended product manufacturers in suits involving pesticides and chemicals.

She has worked extensively in all stages of litigation including trial, trial preparation, depositions, alternative dispute resolutions, and law and motion. Consequently, she is extremely knowledgeable about the strategic, substantive and procedural aspects of toxic tort cases.  Additionally, she coordinates defense strategy management directly with clients and national counsel, and is involved with client case management.

Susan has co-chaired 12 trials over the last 5 years.  Her most recent trial resulted in a defense verdict for her client, Crosby Valve, Inc., after a six week personal injury mesothelioma case.  She has also obtained numerous voluntary and involuntary dismissals for clients as result of unique and strategic motion practice, including Demurrers and Motions for Summary Judgment. 

Susan received her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, cum laude.
