Stephen Berry specializes in insurance coverage and insurance bad-faith litigation, with particular emphasis on constuction defect, professional liability, and aviation claims. He also has experience in contractual indemnity, legal malpractice defense, construction, and mold litigation. His experience includes a successful appeal in the Supreme Court of Alabama reversing a $2 million judgment against an insurer; writing a winning summary judgment brief in the Buckhead daytrader-shooting civil suit; successfully intervening on behalf of Ray Lewis' insurer in the civil trial arising out of the 2000 Super Bowl stabbings; and writing a winning summary judgment brief in a $7 million copyright/advertising insurance dispute.
Stephen is listed in the 2007 and 2008 editions of The Best Lawyers in America in the practice area of Insurance Law.
During law school, Stephen served on the Editorial Boards of the Virginia Journal of International Law and the Virginia Environmental Law Journal, and participated in the Moot Court Competition. Before law school, Stephen studied in Germany and Austria and earned a M.A. in European History.
