Kelly Lamendola is a member of the Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs Department in Albany, New York. Her practice focuses on administrative law and government affairs, representing clients before state and local agencies on regulatory matters such as environmental review and permitting, certificates of need for health care facilities, the preservation of historic resources, and economic development issues and incentives. Kelly also advises clients on legislative initiatives, including the preparation of draft legislation and regulations, lobbying on pending legislation, and the creation of political action committees.
A large part of Kelly’s practice involves the representation of corporations, not-for-profit organizations, closely-held companies, hospitals, trade associations and other business entities regarding organizational and operational issues, including corporate governance and compliance and contract preparation. She has extensive experience in counseling tax-exempt organizations, including acting as bond counsel and borrower’s counsel on tax-exempt financings.
Kelly’s corporate practice also focuses on legal issues related to government procurements and competitive bidding; on the New York State Lobbying Act, and on State Election Law and ethics issues.
Prior to joining the Plunkett & Jaffe Group of McKenna Long & Aldridge, Kelly served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Charities and Health Care Bureaus of the New York State Attorney General’s Office. She also served on the Attorney General’s tobacco litigation team.
