Biodefense
Because of insufficient biodefense medical and non-medical countermeasures, the research and development of new life saving technologies is a critical aspect of the national security.
Biodefense includes countermeasures against chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) threats, as well as new infectious diseases. One of the U.S. government’s top priorities is strengthening the nation’s defense against deadly biological weapons.
MLA’s Life Sciences and Public Health Preparedness team, in support of the federal government’s goal to strengthen the national stockpile (SNS), has been integral to passing landmark programs such as Project BioShield and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA). It is also committed to increasing research funding at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
MLA’s team is at the vortex of science, law and public policy positions, providing comprehensive solutions for clients trying to develop effective countermeasures including vaccines, antivirals, antibodies, antibiotics, detection devices and diagnostics equipment. Our proficiency and success in assisting our clients both in securing government contracts and managing relationships for peak performance at HHS and the DOD make MLA the international “go-to” firm.
