Experience

Michael Freed focuses his practice on insurance coverage and insurance bad-faith litigation, with a particular emphasis on professional liability claims.  As part of his practice, Mr. Freed provides insurance coverage analysis and advise to several major insurance companies.  Mr. Freed has successfully resolved a number of insurance coverage disputes, including winning summary judgment in a “set up” breach of contract action against a professional liability insurer alleging breach of the duty to defend.  Mr. Freed also has experience handling other complex litigation, including matters under the Georgia Open Records Act and Georgia Fair Business Practices Act. 

Mr. Freed also serves on the firm’s Diversity Committee and has an active pro bono practice. 

While in law school, Mr. Freed served as Editor-in-Chief of the Georgia State University Law Review and interned for the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.  Mr. Freed also received the ALI-ABA Scholarship and Leadership Award and he was a Pupil in the Bleckley Inn of Court.  Prior to law school, Mr. Freed worked at Men Stopping Violence, a non-profit organization in Atlanta working to end violence against women.
