Experience
Alina A. Gorokhovsky has more than 20 years of experience in national and international business and public policy, working extensively with governments and the corporate sector in a wide-range of practice areas, including: public-private partnerships, energy, biodefense, risk management, government contracts, and government relations. She has helped clients strategize and implement public private partnership initiatives in transportation, health care, infrastructure, energy, IT, and government services.
In addition to her experience in legal and policy sectors in the U.S. and Europe, she has worked throughout the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), living in Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan. Prior to joining the firm, she provided technical assistance to, and worked closely with, U.S., U.K., Canadian, and German Embassies, and business associations (throughout Europe and the CIS) on stimulating commercial sector development by encouraging the growth of a competitive private sector.
In Russia, Ms. Gorokhovsky worked closely with advisors to the Duma, Ministry of Economic Development and the Central Bank to provide counsel and technical assistance support for the Corporate Governance, Land, Tax, and Administrative Codes, as well as banking and economic reforms. In Azerbaijan, under a USAID grant, she worked with the government on stimulating growth of competitive private and non-profit sectors by providing technical assistance programs to small and medium enterprises.
Ms. Gorokhovsky has worked closely with international and national NGOs and private companies to develop an information-gathering and dissemination strategy to encourage joint international projects and investment for better performance and growth in the agriculture, manufacturing, and energy sectors. She has coordinated corporate and inter-government events, and policy dialogues throughout the U.S., and in Almaty, Athens, Baku, Brussels, Cyprus, Kyiv, London, Moscow, Munich, St. Petersburg, Tbilisi, and Yalta. Ms. Gorokhovsky taught business strategies master courses at the Ivano-Frankivsk State University in Ukraine, and has worked closely with the local government on improving the academic standards of the masters programs in the region.
