Experience

Lisa Norrett's practice focuses primarily on civil litigation in federal and state courts, including class action and mass tort litigation. She has litigated cases involving a variety of product liability, toxic tort, and general civil litigation matters.

Ms. Norrett has represented several military support contractors in tort cases stemming from their combat-related work overseas. She has significant experience in asserting on behalf of our clients specialized federal removal doctrines and defenses, such as federal officer removal, the political question doctrine, and the government contractor defense. She also has represented clients in a number of a class action and mass tort litigation matters, including the multi-district "fen-phen" diet drug litigation and several telecommunications class action product liability lawsuits.

At the appellate level, Ms. Norrett has handled appellate matters before many federal Courts of Appeals in cases involving a broad range of subject matters, including defamation, immigration, and government contractor defense matters.

She also maintains an active pro bono practice, where she has represented numerous clients in family law disputes in the District of Columbia and Maryland.

Ms. Norrett received her B.A., magna cum laude, in 1995 from the College of William & Mary, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. In 1998, she received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a member of the Journal of Law & Politics.
