Experience

Buddy Darden concentrates on public policy and public finance. He has been recognized on the "Most Influential Georgians" listings by Georgia Trend Magazine. JAMES Magazine has also recognized Mr. Darden by naming him one of "Georgia's Most Influential People" twice in its annual listings.

He is a member of the McKenna Long & Aldridge legal team that currently represents the State of Georgia in its water allocation negotiations with Alabama and Florida. Mr. Darden also advises clients on conducting business with the State of Georgia and the federal government and developing strategy for legislative and government affairs issues.

Mr. Darden has served as an advisor and lecturer on behalf of the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs. He has lectured and participated in programs concerning issues of National Defense and Ethics in Turkey, Senegal and Indonesia.

Mr. Darden was a presidential appointee to the Board of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, a government agency established to provide political risk insurance and loans to help U.S. businesses in more than 140 emerging markets and developing nations worldwide.

Prior to joining McKenna Long & Aldridge, Mr. Darden represented Georgia's Seventh Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives for six terms. During his tenure in Congress, he served on the Armed Services Committee, the Interior and Insular Affairs Committee and the House Appropriations Committee. Additionally, he was the senior Democrat of the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct (Ethics).

Before his election to Congress, Mr. Darden was a member of the Georgia General Assembly and served as District Attorney of the Cobb Judicial Circuit.
