Experience

Mike Levengood focuses on commercial litigation, corporate reorganizations and trusts and estates.

He represents numerous clients before state and federal courts, mediators, arbitration tribunals and regulatory agencies in a wide variety of commercial litigation matters. He represents debtors in possession, trustees, creditors and other interested parties in corporate reorganizations and prosecutes and defends bankruptcy litigation matters including avoidance actions and injunctive relief. He also has substantial experience representing fiduciaries in the administration of decedent estates.

Levengood is Forms Editor for Norton Bankruptcy Law and Practice 2d and is a frequent speaker on bankruptcy and litigation issues.

Civic Activities:

  • Levengood is a community leader in Gwinnett County where he is active with the Gwinnett County Public Schools, the largest and fastest growing school system in Georgia with an enrollment of more than 136,000 students. Levengood recently served as Promotions Chairman for the 2002 Education SPLOST Renewal Committee. He was the primary contact with the committee's campaign consultants, directed the activities of citizen volunteers and was the campaign's media spokesperson. The campaign resulted in a 79 percent "yes" vote for extending the sales tax, enabling Gwinnett County Public Schools to build 2,000 needed classrooms and enhance the technology available to students and teachers. Levengood serves as a business representative on the Parkview High School Local School Council and is a charter member of the Gwinnett County Superintendent's Council of Community Advisors.
  • Levengood is the Chairman of the Gwinnett Parks Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports Gwinnett Parks & Recreation and coordinates fund raising and volunteer efforts to assist that Division in maintaining almost 8,000 acres of Gwinnett County park land and greenspace of which 2,235 acres are developed into 29 county parks serving all citizens of Gwinnett County including the 43,288 children who participate in youth athletic programs and the 12,913 adults who participate in adult sports programs offered in Gwinnett County.
  • Levengood is a graduate of the 2003 Class of Leadership Gwinnett and co-chaired the 2005 Leadership Gwinnett Health & Human Services Program Day. He is the firm's representative with the Chairman's Club of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce.
