Experience
Andrew J. Park represents foreign and domestic clients in a multi-disciplinary practice that focuses on international transactions, U.S. corporate law, and intellectual property counseling, prosecution, enforcement, and litigation. His work on behalf of electronics companies, automobile manufacturers, cosmetics companies, chemicals companies, and companies in other industries concern global intellectual property protection, licensing, and enforcement, as well as corporate counseling in such areas as Hart-Scott-Rodino filings, anti-trust, and anti-dumping/countervailing duties.
Mr. Park served as Chair of the Intellectual Property Rights Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce. In this role, he advised officials from the U.S. Department of State, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, the U.S. Embassy in Korea, and other public officials and multi-national corporations. Mr. Park is also currently an arbitrator with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
He has also represented clients in negotiating and forming international joint venture companies and the acquisition of major business concerns. Mr. Park's understanding of the nuances between the business culture and ethos of the East and West make him well-qualified to conclude many of today's complex international commercial transactions.
Notable Engagements
- Negotiated and concluded the acquisition of a business unit of a publicly traded U.S. company by a U.S. joint venture between a U.S. and Korean-owned company.
- Negotiated a joint venture agreement between a Korean and U.S. construction management company for major joint international projects, including a US$1.7 billion skyscraper building in Korea.
- Represented two Korean automobile manufacturers in connection with corporate governance and regulatory matters.
