Experience
Jonathan Hunt focuses his practice on a broad range of matters involving real estate, finance and development and corporate transactions. A significant part of his practice involves representing companies and commercial real estate developers in the acquisition, development, financing and leasing of large-scale projects (e.g., commercial, retail, hospitality and public-private partnerships). He also represents institutional lenders in secured lending transactions including senior secured revolving credit loans and mezzanine financings.
Mr. Hunt also counsels clients with retail roll-out strategy and corporate matters. In addition to real estate-based transactions, he has also advised clients in asset purchases, mergers/acquisitions and corporate reorganizations.
Prior to joining McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, Mr. Hunt was in-house counsel for Limited Brands, Inc. where he advised senior and executive management regarding issues related to the company’s real estate, construction, new brand/store development, brand marketing initiatives and compliance issues.
At his previous firm, Mr. Hunt advised clients in various corporate, intellectual property and real estate matters. He also assisted an international chemical manufacturing client of the firm by serving as additional in-house counsel for one year, providing counsel on numerous matters including the disposition of its chemical manufacturing facilities, products liability issues, FIFRA compliance and co-marketing/licensing and joint venture arrangements.
During law school, Mr. Hunt received numerous awards and recognitions, including being named the first Baker & Hostetler Paul D. White Scholar. Prior to law school, he served as a lead Project Engineer for Gilbane, an international construction management company, where he supervised over $90 million worth of program and construction management projects in the corporate, educational, pharmaceutical, health care and advance technologies sectors. As a former project engineer, Mr. Hunt is uniquely positioned to represent clients in connection with major development, construction, architectural and engineering issues.
