Experience
R. Tyler Goodwyn, IV's practice focuses on patent litigation and client counseling, with an emphasis on technology. Mr. Goodwyn has extensive experience throughout all phases of patent litigation, from conducting initial case assessments, through preparing court pleadings, obtaining discovery, presenting oral arguments, to conducting trial and negotiating successful settlements. He also counsels clients on how to acquire, protect, use and assess intellectual property.
Mr. Goodwyn’s intellectual property experience includes diverse technology areas such as image data and display technologies, semiconductor manufacture and design, analog and digital circuitry, computer architecture, communication systems and protocols, printable electronics, mechanical designs, control systems, simulation and modeling data manipulation, medical devices, rocket propulsion and plastics manufacturing.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Goodwyn was a partner in the intellectual property department of a leading international law firm. Before entering the legal profession, he was employed as an engineer and as a business and technology consultant.
